Concepts

One of the main goals of the HealthGrid initiative is to organize and present information to users in a form that increases their awareness and understanding of the Grid technology applied to Health. In the framework of European projects, visual identity is of essence, to make easily recognizable and identifiable all the disseminated documents and the applied communication products. The HealthGrid Communication team is able of study, analyse and create various dissemination documents based on existing visual identity or by declining it.

HealthGrid aims at conveying communication messages through the various mechanisms available to spread information:

Web

The Internet has become the dissemination tool of choice for millions of organisations and individuals. Websites are powerful tools for reaching your target audience and promoting innovative technologies. It is among HealthGrid's utmost priorities to promote universal access to information and to contribute to the strengthening of communication and information capacities. The HealthGrid Communication team composed of a Web designer, a Web developer, Portal developer and people editing the content, can create all kind of websites because they:

  • Master all techniques linked to web 2.0;
  • Respect W3C standards;
  • Respect accessibility norms;
  • Are aware of the most recent technologies as monitoring the technological developments;
  • Master both the website development from scratch and the use of a Content Management System;
  • Respect a quality process while developing the website;
  • Have a close collaboration between the Web Designer and the Web Developer to obtain the optimal result in terms of visual and functional.

HealthGrid has been in charge of developing several websites to provide information about a given project and news of its activities and results, hereafter you will find a some examples:

The HealthGrid communication team has expertise on designing and publishing web-based dissemination products:

  • Newsletters that are released periodically (commonly quaterly) in order to inform the target audience about the latest developments in the project. The newsletter is published through e-mail and all the partners will be asked to send it to their key partners and customers. The newsletter will also be distributed among the interested organisations.
  • Web banners to advertise events online by attracting traffic to a website by linking to the website of the advertiser.

Print

Print products are a popular dissemination tool, mainly due to their versatility and potential reach. The requirements for the print products are discussed with the management of the concerned project in terms of length, quality and number of copies and distribution with relative ease.

The HealthGrid Communication team is able to create numerous types of print products depending on the project concept, the target audience and the dissemination mechanism:

  • Flyers designed in order to be distributed for dissemination and awareness reasons to the stakeholders and potential partners of the network during all events, workshops and conferences attended by project participants. An early flyer is commonly produced right at the beginning of the project to introduce the project, its objectives and partners. Then, it can be updated to become more concrete with the goals and the impact of the project. Flyers are often available on the project web site for members to download, distribute and display;
  • Posters typically includes both textual and graphic elements. Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and convey information during meetings and events as key elements of booths;
  • Brochures and leaflets to promote the activities or outputs of the project, usually in a rather timeless fashion;
  • Business cards designed with the scientific purpose of the project in mind;
  • Postal Cards and bookmarks to advertise a project or announce an event;
  • Newletters that are commonly web-based, could be occasionnally printed for special distribution purposes;
  • Custom Advertising Products that offers personalized merchandise to users in order to create both goodwill and project recognition.
